Polynomial without Integer Roots

Let \(P(x)\) be a polynomial with integer coefficients. If there exist distinct integers \(a\) and \(b\) such that \(P(a) = 1\) and \(P(b) = 3\), prove that \(P(x)\) has no integer roots.
